PORSCHE 911 991.1 CARRERA 3.4 - £Auction
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2025 on Saturday the 8th of November, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT. Porsche introduced the 991 generation 911 in late 2011, representing a major evolution of the brand’s infamous and ageless sports car. Compared with the outgoing 997, the 991 sat on an all new platform with a longer wheelbase, wider track, and a body made extensively from aluminium, improving rigidity and reducing weight. The cabin was completely redesigned, taking inspiration from the Carrera GT, with a higher centre console and improved driving position. New electromechanical steering brought sharper precision, while the re-engineered suspension offered a greater range between comfort and control. These changes modernised the 911 without losing the balance and feedback that define the model’s heritage. This particular 991.1 Carrera was registered in September 2013 and has a rather special origin story. It was reportedly specified and ordered by one of the senior managers of Porsche GB Reading, who wanted to create what he considered the perfect 911 sports car. Rather than opting for the more powerful 3.8-litre Carrera S, he chose the 3.4-litre Carrera as the base car for its sweeter delivery, lighter feel, and more accessible performance. He paired it with the rarely specified 7-speed manual gearbox to emphasise the engagement and driver connectivity that only a true manual 911 can offer, especially when paired with the high revving naturally aspirated engine. The result is a car that feels pure, balanced, and deeply satisfying to drive. Finished in GT Silver Metallic with a Black leather interior, this car was specified with a focus on driving enjoyment and usability. The factory-fitted PASM sports suspension lowers the ride height by 20mm and sharpens the chassis response, while Porsche Torque Vectoring and a mechanically locking differential add composure through fast corners. The Sport Chrono Package and switchable sports exhaust complete the driver-focused setup, allowing the flat-six to sound and respond as a 911 should. Other options include 20” Carrera S wheels, bi-xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System, BOSE surround sound, heated 14-way electric sports seats, and an electric tilt and slide sunroof. Every detail was chosen to enhance the experience behind the wheel rather than distract from it, resulting in a car that blends refinement and precision with the unmistakable feel of a naturally aspirated Porsche. This example has covered just 28,000 miles from new and is offered with a full Porsche Centre Sheffield service history, the most recent service having been completed in May 2025. It has had three former keepers, with the current owner parting with it only due to lack of recent use, favouring other cars in their collection for long-distance touring. This is an opportunity to acquire one of the most balanced and rewarding modern 911s, combining a carefully considered specification with exceptional provenance and condition.
