1969 MG C GT - £24,950

1969 MGC GT finished in Snowberry White with black leather trim and matching black carpets throughout. To say that this fabulous example has been the subject of a full restoration is an understatement. Back in the day, she was first registered along with 9 other MGC’s to the Lancashire Police Force where she no doubt gave sterling service. As such she was supplied with uprated suspension, a calibrated speedometer, heavy duty batteries, a Police radio and a boot full of emergency kit. Her days of playing Cops and Robbers finished in 1971 when she was sold into the motor trade and re-painted in red, no doubt in an effort to disguise her previous life. By googling RTE 935G you will find early pictures taken whilst still with the Lancashire constabulary. Purchased in 1972 by John Cameron and later by Nigel Holland in 1978 and was eventually taken off the road in 1981 for the purpose of a restoration. Whilst a little progress was made, the in-depth restoration was not started until the car changed hands again in 2011 when the real work began, all now recorded in the car file that accompanies this stunning MGC GT. No stone was left unturned and the bodyshell was shot blasted to bare metal to reveal badly rusted panels. These were subsequently cut out and replaced and various areas re-welded, after which the bodyshell was treated to a full back to metal repaint in its original Snowberry white. Whilst this was in progress, the engine was completely stripped down which revealed broken piston rings, worn valves and guides, necessitating a complete rebuild which has been done to an equally high standard. The interior has been completely re-trimmed using all correct materials including an original MGC steering wheel. It starts first time every time with only a small amount of choke required. If you are looking for the best, then look no further. Now offered at considerably less than the cost of the restoration at £24,950.
