Presented in beautiful condition throughout, this 4200GT combines timeless Pininfarina styling with the unmistakable character and performance of Maserati’s Ferrari-derived V8 engine and Cambiocorsa paddle-shift transmission. A truly engaging and sophisticated Italian GT DESCRIPTION The Maserati 4200GT, also known as the Maserati Coupé, was unveiled in 2001 at the Geneva Motor Show as the successor to the 3200GT. Styled by Pininfarina, it marked a return to form for the marque, combining timeless Italian design with a Ferrari-built 4.2-litre V8 engine and a modernised chassis. The Cambiocorsa version, as offered here, introduced Maserati’s electro-hydraulic manual gearbox operated by steering wheel-mounted paddles, allowing the driver to enjoy a more involving, race-inspired experience. Production of the 4200GT range continued until 2007, when it was replaced by the Maserati GranTurismo. During its six-year run, the 4200GT established itself as a refined yet thrilling grand tourer, with an intoxicating engine note and a level of craftsmanship that made it a true rival to Aston Martin and Porsche. This particular example, registered in 2004, showcases all the hallmarks of why these cars have become modern classics EXTERNAL Finished in the elegant and timeless Maserati Grigio Nuvolari Metallic, this 4200GT presents beautifully from every angle, with bodywork that is immaculate throughout. The paint retains a deep, even gloss across every panel, free from notable blemishes, reflecting the care this car has received from new. At the front, the legendary chrome Maserati grille takes centre stage, proudly displaying the iconic Trident emblem, a hallmark of Maserati heritage. All exterior badging sits correct and bright, complementing the flowing lines of the Pininfarina-designed bodywork. The colour-coded bumpers remain completely scuff-free, blending seamlessly into the design, while at the rear, twin chrome exhaust outlets sit proudly to either side, emphasising the sporting character of this GT coupe. Glazing remains original throughout, clear and free from marks, and the car retains its electrically operated, heated and power-folding door mirrors, which are finished in matching Grigio Nuvolari Metallic. From the long, sculpted bonnet to the clean, muscular rear haunches, the 4200GT’s proportions exude classic Italian GT style. Original light units remain clear and chip-free, while the chrome detailing around the windows and grille is bright and untarnished. This is a car that has been clearly cherished, and it shows in every panel and detail INTERIOR Opening the long, frameless doors reveals a beautifully preserved beige leather interior, a hallmark of Maserati’s hand-crafted cabins. The front seats present extremely well, supple and only showing the lightest signs of careful use, while the rear seats appear possibly never to have been used, their condition virtually indistinguishable from new. The luxurious, colour-coded interior carpet remains in near-factory condition, protected from day one by genuine Maserati tailored overmats, which show only minimal signs of use. Front door cards are trimmed in matching beige leather with fine stitching that remains crisp and unmarked, while the rear interior panels are clean, bright, and free from scuffs, adding to the impression that the back of this cabin has seen very little, if any, use. The dashboard remains original and unspoiled, with a tasteful two-tone effect of beige and black, giving a sense of elegance while reducing glare. The original Maserati infotainment system, complete with satellite navigation, remains in place and in full working order, a rare sight in these models. Importantly, there are no signs of the common sticky buttons or deteriorated surfaces that can affect this era of Maserati the dash vents, centre console buttons, and steering column surround all present as they left the factory. Sitting directly in front of the driver, the elegant Maserati instrument cluster displays just under 42,000 miles, with clear dials and crisp lettering. The three-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel and polished aluminium paddle shifters sit comfortably to hand, completing an interior that blends classic GT comfort with a focused sporting edge. Every switch, button and function operates exactly as it should, from the climate control system to the electric windows and mirrors, a testament to the care this car has received. This interior is a truly inviting place to be – luxurious, hand-crafted and very well preserved ENGINE & TRANSMISSION Beneath the sculpted bonnet lies the iconic 4.2-litre naturally aspirated V8, a masterpiece built by Ferrari exclusively for Maserati. This all-alloy, dry-sump V8 produces 390 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 332 lb-ft of torque, with a spine-tingling soundtrack that builds from a deep burble at idle to a hard-edged wail as the revs climb, a sound that only an Italian V8 can deliver. Throughout its life this engine has been cared for with regular servicing and meticulous maintenance, ensuring it remains in superb mechanical health. It starts eagerly, idles smoothly, and delivers its power in a seamless and urgent manner, exactly as Maserati intended. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through the six-speed Cambiocorsa automated manual gearbox, an F1-inspired electro-hydraulic system that can be operated in full automatic mode or via steering-wheel-mounted paddles for a more engaging, manual-style drive. Gear changes are quick and purposeful, particularly in sport mode, giving the driver a wonderfully connected feel and allowing the V8 to stay right in its power band. On the road, the powertrain feels silky-smooth at low revs yet thrillingly urgent when opened up, with an unmistakable surge of performance and a responsiveness that makes every drive a special occasion. The combination of the Ferrari-engineered V8 and the Cambiocorsa transmission gives this Maserati its unique character: part refined grand tourer, part high-revving sports car. It is a drivetrain that rewards enthusiastic use but remains entirely civilised for long-distance cruising, making it as versatile as it is exciting WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES This Maserati sits proudly on its original 15-spoke alloy wheels, a distinctive design that perfectly complements the elegant coupe lines. Each wheel remains in outstanding condition, free from curb damage or tarnishing, and retains a deep metallic lustre. At their centre, the Maserati trident emblem centre caps are as bright and crisp as the day the car left the factory, a small but important detail that speaks volumes about the level of care this car has received. Fitted to all four corners are high-performance Pirelli tyres, chosen to match the car’s grand touring and sporting credentials. Each tyre displays ample, even tread, ensuring excellent grip and confidence in all conditions. Behind the wheels sits a braking system engineered to match the car’s Ferrari-built V8 performance. Large ventilated discs at each corner, gripped by powerful multi-piston calipers, deliver superb stopping power with a progressive feel. The system is backed up by ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), ensuring maximum stability and control even under heavy braking or in poor conditions. These safety features, combined with the inherent strength of Maserati’s chassis, provide a reassuring driving experience, allowing the driver to enjoy the car’s performance while knowing that control and composure are always at hand. The suspension and braking components have been carefully maintained and present exactly as they should on a well-cared-for example. On the move, this 4200GT feels tight and composed, with excellent ride quality and precise, communicative steering, reminding you that this was a car designed to be driven as much as admired HISTORY Having been first registered on the 3rd March 2004 by Maserati Dealer H.R Owen of Kensington London, This vehicle has only six previous keepers along with a very low mileage of just under 42000 miles from new, Complete with dealer book which contains the following: Owners Manual / Original Assistance Manual / Original sales and service booklet / Key Code Card / Original service book with the following additions PDi Inspection 03-09-2004 22-02-2007 10736 miles..Maserati 13-03-2009 17392 miles..Specialist Garage 19-02-2010 24373 miles..Auto-Sportiva 05-03-2013 27974 miles..Giallo 19-09-2014 35174 miles..Ferrari Specialist 25-02-2016 38575 miles..Ferrari Specialist 19-10-2018 41414 miles..Specialist 05-05-2020 41502 miles..Specialist 26-04-2021 41530 miles..Specialist Having covered very little miles since 2021, Vehicle has current MOT A large folder accompanies with historic invoices running into the thousands for routine servicing etc The vehicle drives very well and what a lot of car for not alot of money V5 PRESENT AND HPi CLEAR
