In 1988 the car received a comprehensive body-off restoration which included having the engine rebuilt and the bodywork stripped and resprayed.The vehicle was off the road between 1997 and 2002, and around 2003 the chassis was replaced with a new Spyder chassis. The engine has been modified with sprint cams and a big-valve head, and is equipped with an electric fan. The Lotus has also received modified drive shafts with CV joint and rubber donut.
