Jaguar MK2 3.8 1964 Manual with Overdrive // Fully Restored To Show Standard Interior & Equipment DRIVER & PASSENGER COMFORT OF THE MOST LUXURIOUS ORDER... The original interior was subject to a complete overhaul by Vintage & Classic Limited, Wallisdown, Bournemouth, Dorset and completed in October 2003. The seats were fully rebuilt, frames set up and repacked, plus door panels, arm rests and centre console all dressed in fine Connolley cream leather. New wool cloth headlining, Wilton 100% wool carpets in wine throughout including the boot floor and a set of overmats to the original design. The original polished Burr Walnut with Ash inlay dashboard, facia panel and door cappings were assigned to Automarine UK Limited, Poole, Dorset, who reveneered and lacquered the complete wood trim set to the finest of standards. This whole interior retrim cost circa £8500. All interior lighting, crystal clear Smiths gauges and Lucas ammeter, switches, and electrics work as they were intended. Motorola push button radio, the original Jaguar steering wheel and Growler centre boss and chrome semi-circle horn ring, complete this stunning interior... A true gentleman's cockpit, simply beautiful Exterior The outstanding and correct Opalescent Maroon paintwork presents in stellar order. The whole body was subject to a major overhaul by Hamworthy Bodyshop, Hatch End, Pinner, Middlesex and was completed in the Summer of 2014. The original body was in fine order and no welding required prior to paintwork. The history file contains images of the car before, during and after restoration. All bright work rechromed to an exceptional standard and displays a mirror-like finish as you can see from the pictures. The Triplex glass presents in excellent order. Original Lucas lighting all round with the exception of better performing Wipac Halogen Headlights. New rubber seals throughout. Door closures are flush, factory panel fit and outstanding lines and gaps... Simply stunning Standard Equipment Original Tool Kit, Jack, Gauges for Speed, Rev Counter, Fuel, Oil Pressure, Battery and Water Temperature, Centre Ashtray, Locking Glove Box, 2-Speed Heater, Telescopic Adjustable Steering. Additional Equipment Power Steering, Kenlowe Fan, Wire Wheels, Push Motorola Button Radio, Car Cover, Wire Wheel Knock On Tool, Britax Lap Seat Belts. Wheels, Tyres & Brakes Wheels - The 5 chrome rim 72 stainless spoke centre lock wheels and two-eared spinners are as new. Fitted with all matching Vredestein Sprint Classic 185 VR 15 tyres which are excellent all around. Brakes - The disc brake system has been completely overhauled and uprated by Brittons Ash Garage, Jaguar Specialists during the restoration completed in 2014. Coopercraft International calipers fitted with 4 pot fronts and 2 pot rears. The brakes are exceptional. offering a reassuring feel, pull up with ease and perfectly straight. Engine & Transmission The fully detailed engine and engine bay houses the incredible Jaguar XK 3781cc straight 6 engine with 220 bhp at 5500 rpm. The engine and twin S.U. carburettors have been completely rebuilt by Brittons Ash Garage, the cylinder head rebuilt by noted classic precision engineering Chesman Motorsport, Coventry, at a total cost of circa £9500. A mere 2450 miles have been covered since completion in the Spring of 2014. The history file documents the complete rebuild with supporting invoices and pictures of the build, including a new cooling system with Kenlowe fan, electronic ignition, uprated fuel pump and high torque starter motor. On the road, she cannot fail to impress, with light power steering, confidence-inspiring road holding, excellent brakes and very good oil pressure. Needless to say, she runs perfectly hot or cold and sounds tremendous through the full stainless steel double exhaust system. The manual all synchromesh 4-speed gearbox with Laycock de Normanville overdrive selects with ease, the clutch light and progressive... A joy to drive and what a soundtrack. Summary Originally supplied new in the UK in 1964, then shipped to New Zealand by its UK owner in the Spring of 1973 where it was registered as CG 1894. The history file contains the New Zealand Certificate Of Registration that documents 4 private keepers before returning to the UK in the Spring of 1994. The car was spotted in a Christchurch, New Zealand Museum called Dr Heins Classic Car Collection by Merchant Seaman Mr Warburton who purchased the car and set about repatriating it back to the UK. The car was shipped on 1st January 1994 on the Vessel Mairangi Bay from Lyttelton, New Zealand to Tilbury Docks, London. All duties were paid and the car was registered in the UK on 21st February 1994, registration number XFX 395B. The history file is simply outstanding. It contains a photograph album including pictures of the car in the museum and Mr Warburton's personal comments on the car before, during and after restoration, detailing interior refit, engine rebuild and body restoration. There's a box file packed with invoices from 1994 to the present day documenting the full restoration which cost circa £45,000 and completed in the Summer of 2014, MOTs back to the first on 17th February 1994 documenting 34,051 miles. This glorious MKII 3.8 Jaguar was the pride and joy of Mr Warburton for 30 years before sadly passing away a couple of years ago. Today, this beautiful manual MKII 3.8 Jaguar is presented in exceptional order throughout which is a testament to the outstanding quality of workmanship carried out by Brittons Ash Garage Limited 11 years ago. Exceptional paintwork, underside and interior, fully detailed engine, engine bay and mechanically correct. Viewing in our indoor showroom is highly recommended, and any inspection is welcome. Taxation Class: Historic Vehicle - Zero road tax, MOT and ULEZ exempt.
