Manufactured on the 4th October 1972, finished in Primrose with Black trim and manual transmission, the V12 was supplied new by Auto Centre. After 42 years on UK soil, the E-Type was exported to Modena, a beacon of racing and motoring heritage in Italy. When in Italy, the V12 was subject to a high level of mechanical recommissioning to include rebuilding the cylinders heads. A photo record and extensive file of invoices from its time in Italy record a significant program of work on a very original car. On the cars return to the U.K. it was put through a major program of work with our sister company Malton Coachworks. The E-Type was essentially stripped back to bare shell and any evident corrosion was removed. The sills were replaced, a new floor assembly fitted and various panel work carried out. The bare tub was then prepared for painting in the cars original colour and as result the E-Type has a pristine beautifully painted underbody finish. The front space frame was replaced and re-fitted to the body tub, the bare bulk head prepared and re-painted and on build up the car fitted with new rubber seals and mechanically overhauled as required with many parts replaced. Mechanical parts a full new fuel pipe kit, new left and right-hand brake ducts, a complete new wiring loom, a new clutch kit along with flexi hoses, slave and master cylinders, new ball joints, ball joint gaiters, radius arm bushes, anti roll bar link bushes, propshaft universal joints, steering rack mounts and new subframe mountings. Following this extensive bodywork and complete full re-paint, the E-Type presents exceptionally with a stunning, gleaming glass finish. The bodywork is first class, panel gaps excellent and the underbody and engine space frame truly outstanding and as new. Gleaming chromework complements the striking body colour and its period steel wheels with early V12 hub caps and raised digit rear plate give the car a very period feel. Welcoming the driver is a superbly prepared interior with lovely Black leather seats, excellent sill covers and smart carpets, dashboard and steering wheel. All gauges and switch gear work perfectly and the Black mohair hood is superb. The Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V12 manual is the final and most powerful iteration of one of the most iconic grand tourers ever produced, blending Enzo Ferrari's legendary praise for its beauty with a sophisticated V12 powertrain that elevated its performance and refinement. Introduced in 1971 to showcase Jaguar's new 5.3-liter DOHC V12 engine, the Series 3 marked a shift from the earlier inline-six models, offering enhanced speed and luxury while retaining the E-Type's timeless, curvaceous silhouette designed by Malcolm Sayer. Visually, the V12 stands out with flared front wheel arches, a larger chrome grille, plus a prominent "V12" badge on the rear. Behind the wheel, the V12 manual offers a refined grand touring experience: the engine's silky smoothness and torquey low-end pull make it ideal for long hauls, while the manual gearbox adds a mechanical tactility that's pure analogue joy. The 5.3 litre V12 engine is super fit and healthy with excellent oil pressure, the four speed gearbox is smooth with excellent syncro's and the car handles perfectly with superb steering, braking and general handling.
