ELVA COURIER - £15,000
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Sale at Race Retro 2026 - Competition Cars on Saturday the 21st of February, Stoneleigh Park, Stoneleigh Rd, Coventry, CV8 2LG. On offer here is an interesting Elva Courier Mk3 that was used as a road car for the majority of its life in the United States. In 1996, it was converted to a competition car by Elva specialist Butch Gilbert and subsequently campaigned in various HSR, VARA, and SOVREN historic events. Its current owner is a well-respected figure in the historic racing scene and this smart little Elva joined his collection a few years ago. It's currently fitted with a race-specification 1,800cc MG B engine and a 4-speed straight-cut gearbox with limited-slip differential. Very well presented in yellow and blue, the car is UK road registered as 295 NRT and, following some recommissioning, this attractive example could be used for a variety of historic road sports, historic rally or touring events, track days, or even for trips to the local pub. A full specification is available upon request, with a summary below: Engine: MG B, five main bearing, 1,800cc, Weber DCOE 45, cast iron head and block Body: Fibreglass bodywork well presented in yellow and blue Chassis: Ladder-frame, square-section steel tubing Shocks: Adjustable Carrera coil-over shocks Brakes: TR6 discs and calipers (front), MG B drums (rear) Wheels: 13" Minators in silver Gearbox: MG A close-ratio 4-speed, three-synchro, straight-cut Differential: Quaife limited-slip differential Offered at a fraction of the cost to replicate, this represents an appealing opportunity and one that may reward closer inspection.
