1968 DAIMLER V8250 - £25,995
JDC 145F was first registered on the 14th of April 1968 and has had just four owners from new. We supplied the Daimler to its last owner in January 2023, a retired lawyer based in Harrogate who has dealt with us for over 20 years. Prior to that the Daimler V8250 has spent its entire life south of Middlesbrough just off the North Yorkshire Moors. From 1968 to 1985 the Daimler was in Hutton Rudby, North Yorkshire with its first owner, from 1985 to 2022 in Great Ayton and briefly with one of our customers in Stockton on Tees before coming to us for the first time in late 2022/early 2023. Since last seeing the Daimler almost three years ago, the recent owner has covered 3000 miles and spent over £6000 on continuous improvements and detailing work with a Jaguar specialist. The Daimler has driven faultlessly over to us from the Harrogate area and has now covered 91,000 miles from new, but the majority of miles were covered in the car's early life. By 1978 at nine years old the Daimler had covered 71,281 miles and was in with Teesside Transmissions for a gearbox overhaul to include torque converter, all gaskets and seals, bands, rear servo and drive plate. After seventeen years with its first owner, it was sold in 1985 having covered 77,218 miles. The second owner kept the Daimler thirty-seven years and covered just over 10,000 miles taking the mileage to its current 88,000. JDC 145F has been used relatively sparingly, used occasionally and very well kept up too. In 2006 its long-term owner converted the Daimler on chrome wire wheels, purchasing a set of new wheels from MSW and fitting Vredestein tyres. In 2008 receipts confirm new brake discs and pads were fitted and the Daimler was also treated to a high-quality full re-paint that today still presents superbly. Since 2023 and with our long-term customer the dashboard and windscreen surrounds have been refinished, the speedo and rev counter overhauled, the rear axle pinion oil seal has been replaced, a new power steering pressure pipe made up and fitted, the starter motor overhauled, new rocker cover gaskets, annual services and various other detailed improvements. JDC 145F has an exceptionally clean, sharp body with lovely straight panels and excellent door bottoms and lower wings. Door gaps and very impressive, the paint finish still very sharp. The Daimler looks well on an excellent set of chrome wires that have covered just several thousand miles, and the interior is remarkably original with a nice general patina to the leather seats, door cards and dashboard. The upholstery is what we would expect of a low ownership, sensible mileage car that retains lots of originality. Its lovely, honest, and very genuine. On the road the Daimler is impressive with a strong engine holding very good oil pressure, there is no smoke evident on start up and with power assisted steering, a responsive brake pedal and very good handling, the Daimler is a true delight on the road. The automatic shifts nicely between the gears, the rear axle is quiet, and the car offers reliable, comfortable classic motoring.
