1963 DAIMLER 2.5 LITRE V8 - £15,995

motodrome offer this very nice 1963 Daimler 2 ½ litre V8 automatic, finished in Maroon with red leather. All the classic attributes of a Mark II Jaguar, with timeless styling, but instead of the XK 6-cylinder engine, these were fitted with the light and super-smooth Edward Turner designed Daimler 2.5 V8 engine, coupled to automatic transmission. From 1967, with slimmer bumpers, they were known as 250 V8, but these earlier big-bumper ones are correctly known as the 2 ½ litre V8. 1A 1957 BW is an original UK car and an early Daimler variant, and retains it’s original non-suffix registration number. The V5 shows just 3 previous owners. Odometer reading 81000 miles – whilst we can’t warrant this, it’s quite possibly correct, given the interior condition. It seems to have been off the road for years before undergoing a very comprehensive body restoration and mechanical rebuild 2008 to 2009, and has covered around 10000 miles since. We have a very big folder of bills for the restoration, and over 100 photos on a CD showing the shell stripped to bare metal etc. The leather and door cards are the originals, but the headlining, furflex and carpets were replaced, and the wood restored, and the interior is a lovely place to be. Over 15 years on from it’s restoration it still presents beautifully, sits right, and has excellent panel gaps etc. It’s a really lovely MKII variant in my opinion. The last owner has, within the last 2 years, fitted a new battery, fuel tank, exhaust system, and water pump. He’s also carried out a full gearbox service, refurbished the steering column with new bushes and joints, and converted the distributor to electronic. Last serviced June 2025 On our own website, you’ll find our usual two videos: a walkaround appraisal, and driving impressions, which form part of the description. viewing by prior appointment.
