In 2019 this one owner, sensible mileage C3 was acquired by a UK based specialist dealer who imported the car to Great Britain. On it's arrival here in July 2019 it was registered with the DVLA and a full schedule of works was undertaken, more of which later. The Corvette was granted an advisory free MoT in August 2019 at 80,300 miles. The current owner had been diligently searching for the “right” C3 when he happened across this one, and became the Stingray’s first non-trade UK registered keeper on 15th August 2019. Since then, only around 1,200 miles have been covered. This is a matching number, manual car, with a strong provenance and a high degree of originality. The current owner replaced all five tyres upon his acquisition to the current set of Galaxy R1’s complete with their period-appropriate white side-wall lettering. These 70-profile beasts are fitted to an original set of 15-inch slotted steel wheels finished in Silver. The familiar “roulette wheel” chromed centres and deep beauty rings are fitted to deliver a deep-dish alloy look. In the “flesh” it’s a stunning looking car that’s hard to take your eyes off. The Saddle hued sporting, but well-appointed cabin is very much the equal of that exterior, too. The condition, also, is just as hard to fault visually. On it's arrival to the UK in 2019 the dealer replaced the seat foam and covers with original specification items. The carpets were replaced, together with the door cards, parking brake and shift console and upper dash pad. The result is authentic 1970’s period charm. The speedometer currently doesn’t function, but the odometer does. There is a useful engine revs to road speed conversion table applied to the speedo face, but the photographer removed it to capture the current mileage. A digital speedometer on a smart phone is also a good fall back. Lastly the air-conditioning is out of action. In the “pros” column there is a discrete electrical cut-off.
