1935 AUSTIN 10 LICHFIELD - £4,350
Bought at auction from a deceased estate 3 years ago, the car having been dry stored for 6 years. First job was to remove, drain and treat the fuel tank where after the car started readily and ran smoothly. I also overhauled the rear Hartford shock absorbers. I had the clutch overhauled as it was slipping together with replacing the rear hub seals and relining the rear brakes. The sump was also removed to allow for some internal cleaning and inspection with all appearing well. The car is now running and stopping well but with scope to further improve the brake balance and further adjustment of the dampers. Overall the car is in fairly good original condition and could happily be left at this stage or other improvements could be made depending on the next owner's preference. The fuel gauge, which I overhauled, has now stopped working again. Buff logbook for 1958-68, some more recent history. Colour is black over dark blue. An ideal starter classic for someone interested in pre-war cars. Cheap insurance. Good backup and spares for the Austin Ten Drivers Club.
