1933 1933 MORGAN JAP ENGINED 3 WHEELER SUPER SPORTS. - £44,000

1933 Morgan JAP engined 3 wheeler super sports. Chassis Number: D710 Registration Number: GL1058 Engine Number: LTZ/D/345882S Under 1000 miles covered on this immaculate Morgan 3 wheeler since a full photographically documented restoration was completed. This Morgan comes with the connoisseurs choice of the reliable 1000cc V twin Jap engine as used in Brough Superior SS100 motorcycles etc. This one is in rude health fully rebuilt giving the diminutive little morgan serious perfomance for the day exuding a barking exhaust note when pressed. During restoration simply eveything was attended to. The chassis frame was stipped back primed & painted. New sliding pillar suspension was fitted to the front. The engine fully gone though & rebuilt etc. During restoration the throttle control was moved to the floor to the right of the brake in conventional fashion rather then leaving it on the steering wheel where use is an aquired skill as an exercise in co-ordination & dexterity. The choke & advance/retard fall easily to hand on levers under the dash to the right or the steering wheel. The beetle back rear of the morgan hinges up allowing access to the battery & its cut off switch. There is also a useful little storage area under the rear bodywork allowing for overnight soft bags to be stowed, or simply knickers & a tooth brush depending upon preference. Starting the beast is a simply affair of turning on the ignition, priming the twin Amal Carb's & pulling the decompression lever before releasing it once the engine has started to spin by pushing the starting button. It quickly roars into life with the exposed valve rocker gear dancing a jig in front of one as the scenery somewhat alarmingly rushes towards you. Make no mistake this little contraption is a hoot to drive & brings out the inner hooligan in even the most reserved of drivers. Forward motion is via an easy to master 3 speed gear box also equipped with reverse, the layout of which is the inverse of modern gear boxes with first being found where you might more normally expect to find 4th gear. At 6ft 3" tall I am quite comfortable in it so it is well suited to those of taller stature. Getting in is simple by standing on the seat & sliding ones legs down under the wheel. Getting back out.....a slightly different story! The car is finished in a deep red with the paintwork in lovely condition. A separate spare rear wheel with a new tyre comes with the car. There is also a tonneau cover to snap over the cockpit when the machine is to be left unattended. The wheels are powder coated black & have new tyres fitted all round. Starting instructions & the old buff log book come with the car along with a modern V5c Document. All in all this is a fully sorted car ready for immediate extended use with everything that needed doing having been done during its restoration. It is fast, sounds glorious & has the full tally ho, chocks away, bugs in the teeth type driving experince whilst peering though the the aero style screen. Call Richard Biddulph.
