The 2000 Mini John Cooper LE40 is a highly collectible limited-edition model produced by the Rover Group to commemorate two milestones: the 40th anniversary of the Mini brand's modern era and the 40th anniversary of the Cooper name's F1 World Championship victory. Only 300 cars were built (with possibly one extra for the Cooper family, making 301) making it an exceptionally rare model. The standard specification is striking: all cars were finished in Brooklands Green with an Old English White roof, matching Old English White bonnet stripes and mirrors, and featured a Grenadine Red leather interior. Under the bonnet sits a 1.3 litre petrol engine producing around 63bhp, driving the front wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox - modest by modern standards but perfectly suited for the car's retro city-car ethos. The interior is richly appointed, with full leather on the steering wheel, gear knob, handbrake lever, and doors, plus an engine-turned aluminium effect dashboard and magnolia-faced dials, all emphasising its status as a premium limited edition.

Originally registered on 9th March 2000, this Mini presents in great order throughout. The striking Brooklands Green coachwork is complemented well by the Grenadine Red leather interior. The engine runs well, and the gearbox operates as it should.
